JOB TITLE: FINANCE MANAGER - HYBRID

SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000

LOCATION: Salford Quays

HOURS: 8am - 4 pm - Monday to Friday

Work from home on Fridays

BENEFITS: Holiday allowance 28 days including bank holidays

(2 extra after 2 years service up to max of 5)

Working from Salford Office

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding specialist construction business with a robust track record, is seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join their team.

As a Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's financial operations. Your responsibilities will include managing comprehensive accounting processes, ensuring precision, compliance, and timely financial reporting. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in financial practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Generating and preparing Profit and Loss in Sage Line 50
  • Processing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Reviewing trial balances and checking totals for sales, purchases, and cashbook control accounts
  • Creating and presenting monthly management accounting reports
  • Reverse Charge VAT
  • Construction Industry Scheme
  • Excellent in Excel / Word
  • VAT records per quarter.
  • Monthly CIS by supplier for HMRC submission
  • CIS check all new Sub-Contractors
  • Supervise a junior member of staff
  • CITB monthly summary & end of-year submission
  • Create customer invoices (Payment certs from Project Managers)
  • Chase overdue customer invoices
  • Set up any new Customer in Sage
  • Monthly Journal (one per month)
  • Payroll Monthly (15 Staff), including bank input & P32 payment to HMRC
  • Monthly post wages into Sage to allocate hours to correct job
  • Monthly expenses are paid & completed in sage
  • Holiday log
  • Match purchase invoices to POs
  • Input all purchase invoices
  • Monthly statements - suppliers
  • Monthly payment run suppliers - after statement rec load to bank
  • Monthly Remittance advice to suppliers
  • Calculation of CIS for required sub-contractors
  • CIS returns are prepped and sent to an external accountant to submit to HMRC. Send out monthly statements
  • Sage back up - Fridays
  • Credit card statement
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliation
  • Weekly profit and loss per job for Project Managers
  • Profit/Loss accounts Per Month & year-end summary
  • Projects - Up-to-date copy of all projects and summary for year-end
  • All company Insurance renewals
  • All company Utilities
  • HR- New Starters / Leavers Holiday pay etc
  • Assisting MD as and when required

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Must possess strong knowledge of book-keeping and accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience as a Finance Manager in the construction or property sector - desirable
  • Supervisory and management skills
  • Trustworthy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Can prepare Management accounts
  • Computer literate - knowledge of Sage line 50 and Excel essential
  • Have a hands-on approach
