Senior Management Accountant

Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will assist in the smooth running of the Finance Department. This is a hands on role supporting the Financial Controller in meeting reporting deadlines whilst also ensure that robust business processes and controls are in place.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist with the month end process to ensure that Group reporting deadline are met.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet. This also includes variance analysis.
  • Review of inventory including price and usage variances, standard costs and analysis of slow moving inventory.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitoring of projects
  • Support ongoing ERP developments and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.
  • Liaison with budget holders
  • Support Financial Controller to ensure internal controls are implemented
  • Assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Assistance with year-end work including liaison with auditors.
  • Ensuring the company complies with HMRC requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members

About You

  • Ideally a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis ideally in a manufacturing setting would be great however not essential.
  • Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English.
  • IT skills including Excel.
  • Experience of supervising staff
