Job Title: Senior Data Cabling Engineer
Location: South / South West
Salary: £29,000.00-£38,000.00 Depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday and overtime available at time and a half
Role Overview
As a Senior Data Cabling Engineer, you will be pivotal in the installation, termination and fault-finding of data cabling across various sites primarily in the South of the UK. You will be reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves leading a team of data engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. The Senior Data Cabling Engineer will collaborate closely with Project Managers, conducting risk assessments and managing day-to-day operations on-site.
Key Responsibilities
You will install, test and terminate various types of cabling, including copper and fibre optic and wireless access points, performing fault finding and proactive resolutions. You will collaborate with project management to meet deadlines, interpret construction drawings into actionable tasks and report on progress and issues. Supervising on-site engineers, you will ensure high-quality work and compliance with safety standards and perform risk assessments. Additionally, you will install various containment systems and ensure all work meets job specifications and company expectations. Adaptability to additional duties as required is also essential.
Requirements and Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in installing and terminating various data cabling types, including CAT6/CAT6a and fibre optic.
- Strong skills in fault identification and proactive problem-solving.
- Proven track record in supervising and managing on-site teams effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in conducting risk assessments and safety briefings.
- Knowledgeable in installing various containment systems.
- Self-motivated with a solid work ethic.
- Meticulous and committed to delivering high-quality results.
