Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single form entry primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking for a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil in Year 3 with SEN. This pupil is diagnosed ASD and moderate delay and working at a Year 1 level. This is a full-time, long-term temporary contract.
Your new role
In your new role as an SEN teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a pupil with ASD and moderate delay on a 1:1 basis, acting as their main point of contact throughout the school day and liaising with parents/guardians and the SENCo on their progress. As they are working at a Year 1 level, you will ensure that all learning material is presented in an inclusive and accessible manner encourage them to participate during lessons. You will effectively identify and manage their triggers by using a myriad of techniques including de-escalation, distraction and taking them out of the class as required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with SEN in the last 2 years, as well as:
- Previous experience with KS1 curriculum
- Previous experience with ASD and/or moderate delay
