We are seeking a dedicated Secondary School French and German Teacher to join our team for a maternity cover position starting 4th November 2024. This role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 French and German, including all aspects of planning, marking, and assessments. We are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire students and contribute positively to their learning experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Teach KS3 and KS4 French and German classes, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
- Be involved in the development of schemes of work and curriculum planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification preferred. Applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience teaching French and German at secondary school level is essential.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and assessment frameworks for French and German.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
