Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cover Supervisor to join our team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
- Support students in their learning and address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other cover supervisors to ensure consistency and continuity in education.
- Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role.
- A genuine passion for working with secondary school students and supporting their educational journey.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field.
- Experience working in a secondary school setting in Birmingham or the surrounding area.
