Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cover Supervisor to join our team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
  • Support students in their learning and address any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other cover supervisors to ensure consistency and continuity in education.
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role.
  • A genuine passion for working with secondary school students and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field.
  • Experience working in a secondary school setting in Birmingham or the surrounding area.
