Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank's businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

The role involves working closely with Information Technology (IT), Market Risk, Finance, Trading and other business users on critical business objectives within front office Risk and P&L production and distribution.

You will be responsible for gathering and understanding complex business and technical requirements and seeing them through to implementation, either by developing software yourself or working collaboratively with dedicated development teams.

You would be expected to communicate directly with different areas of the Bank to understand requirements and take full ownership of the solution delivery.

Your key responsibilities

  • Gathering, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements
  • Creating prototypes (in Python or other programming languages) to validate requirements
  • Creating code for production release to solve business led functional requirements
  • Assisting in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), rollout and business level support
  • Extensive communication with many types of business and technology users including Finance, Market Risk, Traders, Quantitative Analysts and Desk Strats

Your skills and experience

  • Analyst/ Developer with experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Experience of server-side development in Python
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the technical tools to support that (Git, BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence, TeamCity)
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Investment Banking experience within Front Office or Risk preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to break down and explain complex requirements
