A strategic and proactive leader is required for the role of Head of Asset Management & Development for Broxtowe Borough Council. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance, construction and development of residential and commercial properties, ensuring efficiency and quality.

Nearly two thirds of the land in Broxtowe is open countryside with a number of areas noted for their particular charm, and preserved as conservation areas.

The Council Property assets include circa 4,500 residential properties and 300 retail, industrial and operational properties. Notable in the portfolio is the recent development in Beeston Town Centre including a cinema, restaurant and business premises.

Description

  • Lead and manage the Asset Management & Development division.
  • Reporting directly into the Deputy Chief Executive.
  • Responsibility of circa 4,500 residential properties and 300 commercial units.
  • Maintenance & construction.
  • Health & Safety and CDM.
  • Compliance management including fire safety, asbestos, legionella and M&E.
  • Retrofit decarbonisation projects.
  • Acquisitions of new properties.
  • Financial management.
  • Represent the department at senior management meetings and public engagements.

Profile

A successful Head of Asset Management & Development should have:

  • Relevant construction qualifications.
  • Proven track record operating in the social housing sector.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, property management and development strategies.
  • Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Job Offer
