As Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Timely and accurate preparation of management accounts for manager review
- Prepare complex assignments for manager review
- Utilise junior staff on more simple assignments and oversee their work standard, supporting trainees with development of knowledge and skills
- Review annual accounts prepared by juniors and finalise accounts
- Deal with complex business tax computations, including corporation tax
- Prepare personal tax returns for manager/director review - ensuring that clients are given good, pro-active advice
- Deliver exemplary services to clients and develop the relationship - communicate by letter, telephone and face to face in a professional manner, recognising and addressing the clients' needs
- Prepare necessary files/documents for client meetings
- Provide cloud accounting training / support to clients
- Make manager aware of potential for overrun at earliest opportunity, be pro-active and prompt upward communication, predicting possible concerns and offering suggestions to remedy
- Provide daily feedback to all direct reports, review jobs giving clear, constructive feedback and carry out annual appraisal of direct reports
- Take an active participation in the personal and professional development of all direct reports

- Ideally be qualified ACCA/ACA - exceptional part qualified and qualified by experience candidates
- Have extensive experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Awareness of NHS pension scheme and the preparation of superannuation certificates
- Knowledge and understanding of the GMS contract and NHS funding streams
- Experience with using PCSE Online and dealing with PCSE queries
- Knowledge of the preparation of PCN accounts is desirable (although not essential)
- Good general IT skills; MS Office, Xero, Sage - experience of QuickBooks, Online cloud accounting, Autoentry/ HubDoc, IRIS, Virtual Cabinet and Practice Engine would be an advantage
- Organised with good time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
