Head of Finance

We are partnering with a leading Not-for Profit organisation based in Northampton, to recruit a proactive and experienced Finance lead. In this brand new role, you'll be instrumental in steering the financial direction of this thriving organisation.

In this role you will be able to support their mission and help shape a world where everyone has access to responsible credit, safe ways to save, and the financial skills to manage their money wisely for long-term wellbeing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and managing the Finance, Credit Control & Loans teams.
  • Preparing and analysing financial reports, statements, and budgets.
  • Developing and overseeing the annual budget and investment portfolio.
  • Managing financial risks, including credit, interest rate, liquidity, and operational risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • Managing cash flow and acting as a financial advisor to the CEO, board, and management team.

What you'll need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of financial management experience, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • ACCA or CIMA qualified with experience working within an SME environment.
  • At least 2 years people management experience with a track record of effective team leadership.
  • A strong understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks, including risk management.
  • Confidence in dealing with external auditors, regulators, and suppliers.
  • A natural team player with a passion for developing, coaching and leading finance teams with experience of delivering effective formal performance reviews.
  • High levels of communication skills, adapting style and content to your audience.
  • Outstanding organisation skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and relationships.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • A desire to work with a small yet mighty organisation who are focussed on continuous improvement and customer experience.
  • Although there is flexibility, you'll need to live in close commuting distance to Northampton as you'll need to be onsite.
