Spatial Data Team Leader

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Spatial Data Team Leader for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will lead a team of spatial data officers, ensuring the efficient management of local land charges, street naming and numbering, and GIS services, while driving process improvements and maintaining compliance with national and international standards.

About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Manage a team of Spatial Data Officers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and staff development.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Corporate Address and Street Gazetteers, ensuring compliance with BS7666 and other spatial data standards.
  • Manage the processing of Local Land Charges (LLC) and Street Naming & Numbering (SN&N) requests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement improvements to business processes and digital service delivery, working with internal innovation teams.
  • Provide and maintain a comprehensive GIS support service, ensuring the proper use of ICT systems and databases.

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team, including motivating staff, managing workloads, and meeting deadlines.
  • Extensive experience working with spatial data, including managing Local Land Charges (LLC), Street Naming & Numbering (SN&N), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Proven experience managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and exploring income generation opportunities.
  • Experience leading service improvements, implementing change, and managing projects that enhance efficiency and performance.

What's on offer:
Salary: £32+ph

  • may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
