Job Description:
As a Customs Clearance Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export shipments comply with customs regulations and requirements. Your main duties will include preparing and processing import/export documentation, liaising with customs authorities, and ensuring timely clearance of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Communicate with customs authorities to expedite clearance of goods.
Coordinate with clients, shipping companies, and internal departments to ensure smooth and timely shipment clearance.
Maintain accurate records of shipments and related documentation.
Provide assistance and guidance on customs related issues to internal and external stakeholders.
Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Customs Clearance Clerk or similar role.
In depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., customs clearance software, MS Office).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
