Title: Buyer
Job Type: Full Time - office based role
Hours: Monday - Thurs (8am - 5:15pm) Friday (8am - 12pm)
Location: Walsall
My client is a leading provider of strategic outsourcing solutions to machinery builders worldwide and they are currently seeking an experienced Buyer during their continued growth.
Areas of responsibility
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Liaise with customers when making supply chain decisions
- Manage demand report on a daily basis
- Update/ establish safety stock levels against up to date/ forecasted demand to achieve continuity of supply
- Negotiate cost reduction, discounted terms and cost reduction
- Manage spend to limit the amount of stock being held
- Identify methods to increase buying power
- Ensure payment terms are kept in line
- Work with suppliers on lead time reduction and update with appropriate forecast and anticipated demand levels
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Ideal candidate
- Experience in purchasing within the appliance, electrical and electronics industries
- Demonstrate negotiation experience
- Stock management
- Communication through various channels - phone/ email
Package
- Salary up to £35,000 - depending on experience
- Pension 5% matched
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
