Acorn Education are hiring a Deputy Manager with Learning Disabilities Experience in the Cornwall region

Position: Deputy Manager

Salary: Up to £36,000.00 depending on Experience and Qualifications

Hours: Permanent, 40 hours a week

Location: Truro, Cornwall

Essential: A Full UK Driving Licence and the Right to Work in the UK

Welcome Bonus - split in 2 payments, £1500 after 1 months service and a further £1500 after passing 6 months probation

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Job Description:

As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our home, ensuring the highest standards of care for our young people with learning disabilities. You will work closely with the Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team of care professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the management and oversight of day-to-day operations.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.

Supervising and mentoring staff, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating professional development.

Developing and implementing individualised care plans for our young people.

Managing budgets, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.

Liaising with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care.

Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for both staff and young people.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a learning disabilities residential setting.
  • A relevant qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in the care of individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing the lives of young people.
