The UK site of an International Group is seeking a Financial Controller to join their leadership team. This role is pivotal in leading change and influencing strategy within the organisation. The successful candidate will be based in Ipswich, with occasional travel required to other company locations within the UK.

You will report to the UK Managing Director as well as the Finance Director at Group level.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee, manage, and report on the financial position and health of the business.
  • Oversee the accounting function and manage a team of two.
  • Monitor debtor and creditor controls, produce and manage financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis.
  • Provide advice and guidance on financial matters to support sound business decisions and company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage the company accounting software, ensuring accurate financial transactions and internal controls.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial information within corporate close schedule.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and company KPI reporting.
  • Support debt collection and manage company cash flow.
  • Oversee company costings and GP management.
  • Prepare company costing reports and perform procurement and negotiation.
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence and integration.
  • Undertake finance-related projects as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills with experience in a management role.
  • Budget and financial awareness with strong numeracy skills.
  • Progressive, proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Organised and self-motivated, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERPS and finance systems.
