Commercial and Technical Estimator
We are recruiting for a Commercial and Technical Estimator to join our Walsall based client.
The business specialises in providing automation solutions and control systems for industrial processes. Additionally, they provide support services including installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the systems they deliver.
As a Commercial and Technical Estimator your role will be is responsible for executing the commercial price calculations for new requests for quotes (RFQ). You will review, interpret, and calculate pricing against customer bill of material and schematic information to allow the creation of a commercial sales proposal.
The Commercial and Technical Estimator is also responsible for maintaining a database of suppliers and brands, categories, and product types for inclusion on requests for quotation (RFQ).
As a Commercial and Technical Estimator, you will need to have/be:
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent competency levels in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstratable Commercial Estimating experience within an Electrical Manufacturing environment.
- Fully competent in creating and/or interpreting detailed customer bill of materials
- Fully competent in understanding electrical schematics.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders, of varying complexity levels, and at various maturity stages.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of processing and managing a large volume of commercial tender requests, on time and to budget
- Desirable to also have product knowledge in Electrical Control Cabinets and/or Electro-mechanical assemblies and competency in Microsoft Sharepoint.

- Salary: £30, 000 - £35, 000
- Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5.15pm and Friday 8.00am - 12.00pm
- Location: Walsall (100% onsite)

Role of a Commercial and Technical Estimator:
- Accountable for the review of scope of supply and customer information
- Providing accurate quotation progress on a weekly basis
- Closing out commercial tender reviews
- Utilising capacity efficiently and effectively
- Monitors and executes the quotation tracker
- Work closely with other support functions to deliver the companies objectives
- Collaborates with the new product information function to deliver exceptional internal customer service
- Milestone Achievement (Is related to dates within the quotation tracker and can be measured daily. x amount due against x amount completed)
- Budget Variance (This KPI is looking at variation in costs between completed quotations and the completion of 1st off Jobs)
