**Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will operate, extend, and enhance our client's platform at a time of significant growth. You'll be instrumental in defining, designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting the systems that underlie their production services. This role also ensures that the company's infrastructure complies with regulatory standards, passing audits while driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, monitor, and manage the infrastructure supporting services.
- Enhance scalability, robustness, and efficiency while delivering exceptional value to customers.
- Support Developers and Architects in making informed platform and technology choices.
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001, CIS benchmarks).
- Secure production and development environments with robust patch management, auditing, and access control.
- Manage operational and security incidents as part of a 24/7 on-call team.
- Continuously evolve and optimize CI/CD pipelines, lifecycle systems, and disaster recovery plans.

About You
We are seeking a technically strong candidate ready to step into a leadership role. You'll bring:
Experience:
- Extensive background in creating and maintaining cloud infrastructure within engineering teams.
- Proven ability to implement and operate production systems with technical judgment and robust problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to regulated industries and participation in compliance audits (preferred).
Skills & Expertise:
- Production experience with AWS or equivalent cloud providers.
- Proficiency in Linux server OS.
- Expertise with AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, ALBv2, ECS, API Gateways) and tools like Docker, Jenkins, or BitBucket Pipelines.
- Effective infrastructure monitoring and problem-solving with Python (or similar languages).
- Contemporary CI/CD practices, including multi-step database migrations, feature flagging, and testing in production.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure automation frameworks.
