Senior Maintenance Engineer

My client are looking to being on board an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer based out of their new site in Coventry to support in the maintenance of their automated warehouse equipment

My client are a Global Third Party Logistics company who are looking to bring on board a Senior Maintenance Engineer based out of their new site in Coventry.

The key responsibilities of of the Senior Maintenance Engineer based in Coventry would include but not be limited to the following.

  • Ensure all planned Preventative Maintenance schedules are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks with a focus on achieving a first-time fix.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Manager on each shift to ensure all PPM schedules and any outstanding tasks are completed within the agreed time frame.
  • Identify, rectify, and continually monitor problematic faults.
  • Complete manufacturing/production line tasks as needed, recording and reporting activities and actions in the appropriate databases or systems.
  • Be responsible for the performance of the automated warehouse equipment, including AMR, ASRS, and sorters.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team management, launch, and operational teams during the development of new solutions.
  • Support and present technical improvements to customers through proposals, conference calls, and presentations in conjunction with account management.
  • Actively support and, when necessary, lead the delivery of engineering solutions at project launch, including creating master data, process validation, infrastructure works, and managing on site contractors.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on engineering processes, tools, and techniques, including MTM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Excel.
  • Complete new MTM / MOST process assessments or update existing processes as needed.
  • Ensure the engineering function aligns with the operations team and other support functions.
  • Translate high-level operational briefs/objectives into defined solution proposals, progressing and deploying them into live operations.

The successful candidate of the Senior Maintenance Engineer based in Coventry will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.

  • Demonstrated experience in Maintenance Engineering, with a focus on Electrical and Mechanical work (30/70 split).
  • Proven track record of independently working on automated warehouse equipment.
  • Experience working within Robotics would be desirable
  • Certified Lean and Six Sigma practitioner.
  • Strong communication skills across all organisational levels.
  • Ability to empathise with and understand client's perspectives and requirements, acting as their advocate within the engineering function.
  • Skilled in interpreting data and drawing solid conclusions from analysis.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (with knowledge of Pivot tables and common formulas), Word, Visio or equivalent, and Project Management software. Experienced in using AutoCAD to design functional solutions in both 3D and 2D formats.
