Personnel Security Analyst (Part-time, Job share or full time) - Salary - £41,659 - £49,010 (dependent on experience) - Hybrid working.

Good security for our OS customers, our colleagues and our assets is at the heart of this, and we have an exciting opportunity to join the security team and strive to change the culture of Personnel Security (PerSec) across the organisation.

Joining the Protective Security & Resilience Team, reporting into the Security Adviser, we are looking for someone to spot and drive continuous improvement opportunities in our PerSec capability. This is more than just about rules, policy and compliance - it's about the human in the system. You'll be using your analyst skills to identify and track risks and issues, and using those insights to drive change and improvements on PerSec awareness and our security culture.

About the role

The successful candidate will focus on specific business areas with enhanced Personnel Security needs, and will support the aims and objectives of the wider Security Team by:

  • Driving forward best practice to align OS with established standards and improve PerSec maturity
  • Working with process owners across the business to identify PerSec risks and seek improvements to address those risks
  • Support the development of PerSec risk assessments, ensuring appropriate controls are embedded
  • Translating high level security risks into realistic, necessary and proportionate control measures
  • Ensuring appropriate internal policies and procedures are in place, and analysing their impact and effectiveness

We are looking for someone with knowledge of, and an interest in, Personnel Security, to deliver PerSec risk mitigations across OS.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in and knowledge of security controls in a large organisation
  • Knowledge of PerSec
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders and explaining risks to all levels within a business
  • Ability to identify and translate high level security requirements into realistic plans of activity to reduce risk
  • A proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in a security role
  • Experience of managing relationships with a large group of stakeholders, often at senior levels, with different needs and expectations
  • Knowledge / experience of risk management (ideally security risk management)
  • Good IT skills
  • Proficient in Office 365

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend approximately one day a week in, with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home or spend more time at OSHQ.

Security: OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and this role will also require SC vetting to be undertaken, if it is not held already.

Closing date: 8 September 2024

First stage telephone interviews will take place on 12th September. Second stage interviews are scheduled to take place on 18th and 19th September via Microsoft Teams. Final stage interview to take place on 25th September in person at OSHQ.
