Azure System Administrator

We are seeking an Azure Systems Administrator with a focus on cloud services to join our team in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone with experience in supporting large applications such as D365, Teams, SharePoint, and DevOps, with a strong emphasis on Databricks data platform management. The successful candidate will be involved in a major data project and will have the opportunity to upskill in Azure Data, Power BI, and more.

Annual Salary: £45000 - £51000

Location: Bristol (Onsite 1-2 days a week, potentially negotiable)

Job Type: Full-time

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and manage the administration of cloud-based applications, primarily on the Microsoft platform, including extensive work with Databricks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to plan and implement cloud solutions that align with long-term business goals.
  • Ensure the stability and scalability of systems by managing and optimising cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud services and applications, with a focus on Databricks and other data platforms.
  • Participate in the migration of existing services to cloud platforms, focusing initially on data-related projects.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate new cloud technologies and updates to enhance system performance.
  • Act as Product specialist for Data Bricks and other new applications – to be trained up on if not experience in the area already.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in systems administration with a focus on cloud services.
  • Familiarity with D365 administration and support.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft cloud services (Power Platform knowledge is a plus).
  • Experience in managing large applications such as D365, Teams, SharePoint, and DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex systems.
  • Confident communicator capable of explaining complex systems clearly, as evidenced by a presentation during the interview process.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with a long-term perspective on system management.
