Freight Logistics Coordinator

Summary of Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Freight Logistics Coordinator to become an integral part of their freight logistics team. This role will be responsible for managing air and sea freight exports and imports, as well as supporting the development of the in-house freight forwarding department. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating international shipments and ensuring smooth operations across multiple transport modes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the full cycle of export and import shipments across air and sea freight.
- Complete MAWB (Master Air Waybills) and HAWBs (House Air Waybills).
- Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and high service standards.
- Provide accurate quotations and pricing for shipments.
- Organize and arrange collections and deliveries.
- Handle all necessary documentation for customs clearance, compliance, and shipment tracking.
- Liaise with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
- Arrange A-Z export shipments globally.
- Create and manage job files in the in-house system, keeping detailed and accurate records.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers to enhance service efficiency and communicate shipment progress.
- Send proof of exports and imports to clients.
- Support and cover import processes as needed.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams throughout the day.
- Provide administrative assistance to the team and assist other departments as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client inquiries.

Requirements for the Role:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in multimodal freight forwarding, with expertise in both exports and imports.
- Strong understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines simultaneously.
- Previous operational and sales (business development) experience is a plus.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Knowledge of ASM Sequoia and CDS (Customs Declaration Service) systems is preferred.
