Business Analyst Integrated Systems

An organisation within the public sector are recruiting for a Business Analyst for an initial 12 month fixed term contract with extension potential.

The role will be offered mostly remote with ad hoc travel to central London and on a rare occasion (expensed) travel to Birmingham when required.

Reporting to the business change lead, key responsibilities include:

Working within the Transformation Portfolio, you have responsibility for providing support to the project team who are exploring the replacement of the current people, duty, finance and pay systems with an integrated solution.

Using your knowledge and expertise of business and data analysis, systems procurement, project and/or change management practices, you would support the project team in the identification of a full set of business requirements and engage in pre-market engagement to assist with the preparation for the relevant competitive tender processes.

Lead work to create a full set of system replacement requirements that makes use of existing work and puts the user and customer experience at the heart of any recommendations. Undertake pre-market engagement to enhance the requirements and gain a comprehensive appreciation of if and how the requirements can be met.

Lead work to create full tender specifications and evaluation criteria, ensure that these represent the full set of requirements gathered and that they specify areas where system adaptation will be required due to an agreed necessity for bespoke processes.

Supporting the BAU departments to understand where system adoption will be beneficial using analytical and process re-design tools and focusing on improving efficiency and organisational performance.

You would have the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the organisation on this project, with a view to them also supporting any resulting system replacement activity. Then getting involved in activities that will result in business improvement, organisational design and development and embedded transformational change.

The ideal candidate

  • Lean Green Belt or a quality management accreditation
  • Experience of providing a data gathering and business and process analysis service that has resulted in system replacement recommendations being delivered that improved the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization / department.
  • Experience of supporting large scale commercial exercises with a focus on building organization requirements and ensuring that tender specifications and evaluations provide an outcome that produces beneficial outcomes.
  • Experience of supporting or running pre-market engagements as part of large-scale commercial projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of system integration options and ERP solutions
  • Experience and understanding of using organisation design, service design and Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) techniques to make business improvements
  • Experience of working in a project / programme management environment and collaborating with project and change management teams to ensure success. To include experience of working on capability delivery projects that can be linked to business transformation.
  • Experience of producing business cases, reports and recommendations for senior management, including creating a compelling argument by structuring and translating findings into the most meaningful information for audiences.
