Stores and Equipment Manager

IBP are currently recruiting for Stores and Equipment Manager based in Blandford. The Stores and Equipment Manager will lead a small team of yard staff.

You will adopt and maintain the stock management system, ensuring accurate goods in, storage and goods out. You will be picking and issuing stock to teams 48 hours before it is required and re-stocking items that are not needed at the end of a project.

You will prioritise tidiness to enhance efficiency and uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety across the yard.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Commission and implement an Equipment Management system as a single source of accuracy for all assets in the business
  • Confirm correct allocation of kit, clothing and equipment to each individual / team across all departments, with a focus on construction
  • Establish a Personal Holding Record for kit, equipment and tools issued to every individual
  • Confirm the total count of all kit that the company holds, identify the discrepancy against each individual/team, and rectify
  • Implement a process to recycle unused stock back into the stores at the end of a project
  • Manage the Facilities and Yard for the Construction side of the business and ensure they are set up to maximise operational efficiency
  • Line Manage the Stores and Warehouse team

The Ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of managing stores, stock and equipment.
  • Knowledge to commission and implement a stock management system
  • Experience with CRM systems and the ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Confident making key decisions under pressure and knowing when to escalate.
  • Work well individually as well as part of the larger Construction Department
