A small London-based Housing Association is seeking an Interim Assistant Service Charge Accountant for a 9-month fixed-term contract to assist their team. This is an opportunity for someone with strong service charge experience who can ensure financial accuracy and improve efficiency within the service charge processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Leasehold team by providing accurate financial input to help resolve queries
  • Streamlining service charge processes to ensure smoother future actuals and estimates
  • Ensuring the correct apportionment of service charge costs to the appropriate accounts

This role offers hybrid working, with three days per week required in their East London office. It's ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team while being hands-on with service charge accounting.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have demonstrable expertise in service charge accounting, preferably within the Housing sector
  • Be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or have significant relevant experience
  • Possess strong process improvement skills, particularly in service charge actuals and estimates
  • Be available at short notice and ready to step in and make an immediate impact
