Part Time Purchase Ledger Assistant

covering a maternity contract. Whilst this is a fixed term opportunity, this business has been known to offer permanent positions upon completion of contract for the right people, should their be an opening in the business. You will be working as part of an established finance team, assisting the purchase ledger function by ensuring all company expenditure is recorded and month end processes are adhered to. Our client is willing to consider all levels of finance experience, so please don't hesitate in sharing your CV!

Part Time Purchase Ledger Assistant Duties:

  • Oversight and monitoring of business spending and company purchases.
  • Log daily invoices from Outlook to the control sheet and save them digitally to the relevant folder on the company's network drive.
  • Checking invoices against receipts with attention to detail to ensure that all products and/or services purchased are delivered.
  • Processing purchase orders received from Therefore system. Once a non-stock PO is pushed to Sage, the Purchase Ledger Assistant is responsible for either placing the order online or sharing the PO with the person who requested it.
  • Posting all supplier invoices to the ledger (on Sage 200 software), ensuring they are matched to purchase orders where applicable and coded to the correct nominal ledger code and supplier account.
  • Creating new supplier accounts, ensuring all relevant information is entered on the supplier record, including bank details for payment and payment terms.
  • Preparing and processing payments via BACS.
  • Maintaining awareness of outstanding debts and ensuring timely payments.
  • Reconciling supplier statements monthly.
  • Support the supervisor to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitoring petty cash and expenses.
  • Reconciling and processing all company credit cards and checking statements.
  • Handling any purchase inquiries or disputes with suppliers.
  • Filing invoices and statements, keeping records of all products and services purchased with company funds.
  • Maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers.

As Part Time Finance Assistant you will receive a salary of between £24,000 - £25,000 per annum, pro rata over 22.5 hours per week. Our client can be fairly flexible around what days you work as well as start and finish times. Ideally you will be available to start around 1st October 2024, however earlier or later start dates will be considered.
