Forwarding Supervisor/Manager

We are seeking a Forwarding Supervisor to lead our forwarding operations in Felixstowe. This role involves overseeing the planning and execution of all forwarding activities, ensuring cost-effective delivery and maintaining high performance standards. The successful candidate will manage operational teams, influence strategic direction, and implement continuous improvements.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Line Management: Directly manage Supervisors, Coordinators, and Administrators.
- Contract Management: Oversee supplier management for all Supply Chain activities as per contracted standards.
- Budget Management: Support annual budget development and control spending within targets.
- Customer Management: Ensure orders are executed per agreed targets and address customer complaints to prevent recurrence.
- Leadership: Act as a role model for company values and inspire team members.
- Strategy: Play a key role in influencing the strategic direction of the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in leadership roles and 3 years in logistics within a top-tier 3rd Party Logistics Organisation.
- Expertise: Proficient in freight forwarding, contract management, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effect change within 3PL organisations.
- Personal Qualities: High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
