Maintenance Engineer

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a time served Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client on a permanent contract.

This role is permanent and operates across a continental shift pattern - 4 on 4 off - 12 hour shifts with times being 7am-7pm/7pm-7am
Additional overtime hours are paid at premium rates.

Key duties will include but not limited to:

  • Major maintenance of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on tools, robotic, ancillary, material handling equipment to maintain efficiency and utilisation of 95%.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance programme system in conjunction with Plant / Production Manager so that targets can be achieved.
  • Monitor and produce a monthly report in conjunction with other qualified personnel on shift (Supervisor and Technician) using the PiranaCMMS.
  • To maintain daily, all plant and ancillary equipment to give a 95% utilisation of plant to satisfy the customer's needs.
  • Maintain this output with all Quality Aspects adhered in product, machines and equipment at all times, carrying out maintenance where possible, outside normal working hours (if necessary) so that, at all times, production targets are achieved.
  • To assist in the training and development of Supervisor and Technician personnel in maintenance of equipment so as to cover all eventualities.
  • Deal with breakdowns and servicing requirements.
  • Actively seek to improve process stability.
  • Reading of Electrical, Mechanical and Fluid drawings.
  • Maintain a high standard of 5'S
  • Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all tasks completed.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who can demonstrate time served experience, can be team orientated and complete tasks unsupervised. Attention to detail is key.

Ideally apprenticeship trained. Mechanical/Electrical qualifications, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Experience of electrical/hydraulic and pneumatic systems is essential. In addition, knowledge of ABB Robotics and Siemens PLC is an advantage.
