We are excited to present a new opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join an international logistics company based near Northampton. This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working arrangements.

About the client:

Our client is a dynamic logistics company. They have established a brilliant brand in the market, offering a high-quality service to their clients while also the additional services you might expect from a large corporate business. The group has thrived through strategic investments, sales, and continues to expand and that is why they are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to come on board with a focus on leases within the business.

About the role:

This is newly created position, resulting from the company's continued growth. You will work closely with the Finance Manager & Finance Business Partners to look after lease accounting. This a new area of focus for the company so continuous improvement, working with stakeholders and progressing as the role unfolds will be required. The role provides significant opportunities for career progression and involvement in exciting projects alongside daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining long-term lease contracts, being the main point of contact for any suppliers
  • Update lease reconciliations on a weekly basis.
  • Respond to any queries that arise from our FBP's providing support to the business.
  • Reconcile various lease BS account at month end and journal accruals
  • Explore process improvements and assist in driving automation of processes
  • Perform ad hoc additional duties as required.

About you:

The ideal candidate will be an AAT qualified Accountant wanting to progress into ACCA or CIMA. You should be ambitious and eager for an opportunity that offers progression and personal growth, working with some truly talented individuals. Our client seeks a hands-on professional who can also collaborate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified, started CIMA or ACCA.
  • Previous experience working within accounts (at least 3 years).
  • Proven experience in some kind of commercial responsibilities, potentially some ad hoc project work.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Excel and SAP (not essential).
