About the Role

Heath Electrical Services is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing essential bookkeeping tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our organization. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software and procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of Heath Electrical Services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by entering and verifying financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills, and other financial documents, ensuring proper coding and accuracy.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor bank accounts regularly to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Track and analyse financial data to generate reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate financial information and reports to management.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Maintain and organize financial documents and records in a systematic and accessible manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Stay updated with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven work experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and computerized bookkeeping systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and ability to generate accurate reports.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadli
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax preparation is a plus.
