Job responsibilities

Working as a Finance Assistant your role will include:

  • Invoice processing for sales and purchasing, including both stock and non-stock items.
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with production of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
  • Working alongside the Financial Controller and Management Accountant to prepare budget, forecast and cash flow information.
  • Support management and commercial leaders with reporting and data for decision making - both regular and ad hoc.
  • Analysing and summarising nominal ledger transactions.
  • Providing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Liaising with auditors and other advisors when required.
  • Identifying trends and looking for business improvements and cost savings.

Skills required

  • Part or fully qualified bookkeeper or Accountant with at least two years work experience post qualification.
  • Ability to translate data into relevant business information.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Looks to continually improve processes and find smarter ways of working.
  • Friendly but professional approach, good at building excellent working relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills.
