Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant required for a Global Education Software company based in Brentford, West London, 1 day per week in the office.

The role

The Senior Financial Accountant will support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts. This includes aiding key accounting areas, collaborating with the business partnering team and transactional finance to provide insightful analysis, and ensuring reporting control. The role primarily focuses on Accounting and Control, but due to the dynamic nature of the business and its PE ownership, there are ample opportunities for career development in various areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance team with preparing monthly management accounts for the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and relevant supporting documentation to minimize year-end adjustments.
  • Participate in monthly management reporting, ensuring accurate coding for all business units and reconciling management to statutory accounts.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks from the US, driven by PE backers.
  • Engage in the external annual audit process, including the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Support the transition from Sage X3 to Netsuite.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the FC and the broader finance team.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in audit and/or tax.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills (internally and externally).
  • Analytical thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Highly organized multi-tasker.
  • Experience working in a finance team.

Desirable

  • Experience with Sage and Netsuite systems (not essential).
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and engage in diverse conversations.
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification.

Person Specification

We seek candidates with experience in supporting the production of month-end management accounts within a finance team. The ideal candidate will excel in core Financial Control and Reporting disciplines and be energetic and adaptable, ready to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, PE-owned business.
