The Role:
As an External Audit Semi-Senior, you will assist in delivering high-quality audit services to clients, working alongside senior auditors and managers. This role offers excellent career development opportunities, including support towards completing your qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the planning and execution of external audits for a range of clients, including SMEs and larger companies.
- Conducting audit fieldwork and gathering audit evidence in line with regulatory requirements.
- Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation.
- Identifying and reporting on areas of risk within client businesses.
- Assisting with the preparation of audit reports and financial statements.
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide assistance during the audit process.
- Supporting senior audit staff in managing the audit process from start to finish.
- Working as part of a team to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Keeping up to date with current auditing standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or AAT (or equivalent) with a desire to complete professional qualifications.
- At least 1-2 years' experience in audit or accounting, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well in a team.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar.
