About the Role:

Due to a number of recent contract wins, we are seeking a highly skilled Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Track to join our growing team at a major rail contractor. This newly created position will serve as the Track Technical Lead across multiple frameworks, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the technical and engineering excellence of track-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for track engineering across frameworks, ensuring high standards and compliance with all relevant specifications and regulations.
  • Attend Interdisciplinary Check (IDC) and Design Development Review (DDR) meetings as needed, closing out any technical issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to manage and coordinate day-to-day technical and engineering activities related to track engineering.
  • Accept, review, and approve discipline-related Task Briefings.
  • Develop, review, and sign off on Track Monitoring Plans (TMP), Critical Rail Temperature Monitoring Plans (CRTMP), and assessments, while maintaining the CRT Register.
  • Oversee the review of TEF3203 documents for projects.
  • Mentor and support Handback Engineers, ensuring compliance with NR/L3/TRK/1020 standards.
  • Lead on technical reviews and provide key input for ensuring smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Track CRE is ideal but not essential. Candidates with strong technical knowledge of track engineering within rail infrastructure will be considered.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead technical projects, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring smooth and effective communication across projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
