Description
This role requires hands-on experience with multicurrency and international finance systems, ensuring smooth operations across different currencies and jurisdictions. The Head of Finance will collaborate closely with internal teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators, to ensure effective financial operations. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the candidate will need to explain complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholders. The successful candidate will oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, driving financial strategy and control whilst also supporting business growth.
Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight & Reporting:

Manage the financial landscape, overseeing the production of monthly management accounts, profit and loss (P&L), balance sheets, and cash flows.

Provide management reporting and financial insights to the leadership team.

Review and approve monthly reporting packs, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow (short-term and long-term).

Strategic Finance:
-
Collaborate with the leadership team on long-term financial strategies, budgets, and accurate forecasting. Lead finance transformations and process/procedural improvements, aligning with changing business needs.

System Optimisation:
-
Ensure the implementation and optimisation of financial systems, including Sage and associated custom reporting tools. Automate financial processes where possible, including reporting and invoicing.

International Accounting:

Manage intercompany transactions, cross-currency activities, and ensure timely closing across differing jurisdictions.

Compliance & Statutory Reporting:

Ensure statutory reporting and regulatory compliance across UK and international jurisdictions, including FRS 102 IFRS statutory audits and reporting, VAT (Malta/UK), PAYE, and Remote Gaming Tax.

Team Leadership:

Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability. Ensure team goals and objectives are clearly set and met.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting functions, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of financial operations within a fast-paced
and evolving B2C environment. You will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring financial regulatory compliance, with a key focus on automation of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- Proven track record in process optimisation, finance team transformations, and statutory reporting.
- Experience in international accounting, managing cross-currency transactions, and intercompany processes.
- Hands-on experience with finance systems such as Sage, including creating custom reports. Familiarity with AutoEntry, Adobe Sign, and Excel (advanced, including basic SQL, Microsoft Query and power reporting).
- Experience in managing finance system implementations and corporate restructures.
- iGaming/Gambling industry experience is not essential but preferred
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (including formulas, data manipulation), basic SQL, and financial modelling.
- Ability to generate detailed management accounts, financial forecasts, and budgets.
- A proactive and approachable leader who promotes a team-oriented culture.
- You should be forward-thinking, anticipating business needs and addressing challenges in a timely manner.
Job Offer
The Head of Finance role comes with a competitive salary of £90,000-100,000 based on experience, discretionary company and individual performance related bonus, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), pension and flexible working.
