About the Job

As Head of Stock, Quality and Material Flow, you will be responsible for all elements of stock and space management within the new Mercia warehouses. You will lead site stock teams and support the operation in meeting and exceeding our KPIs in order to drive world class service to our customers through the implementation of Unipart logistics stock excellence and storage principles. You will provide subject matter expertise to support the business in reducing stock risk through a period of transformation.

As part of your key responsibilities you'll:

  • Lead site stock teams to ensure stock risks on site are effectively mitigated
  • Ensure risks are managed and mitigated through projects and process improvements
  • Identify and deliver initiatives that reduce costs and/or improve the customer experience through greater stock control and accuracy.
  • Ensure clear and auditable stock processes are in place at all sites, financial and commercial
  • Drive the stock performance within tolerance and ensure costs are controlled and mitigated
  • Ensure all potential risks are identified, addressed and communicated appropriately to operational standards
  • Be accountable for performance of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide effective comms, updates and escalations as required up to director level.
  • Be responsible for effective two-way communication processes with team, customer and clients
  • Ensure reporting of performance is clear, adds value, delivers insight and meets both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Identify trends, risks and concerns from data output to drive the appropriate focus and support – driving appropriate recommendations and decisions therein
  • Ensure stock file management and integrity is maintained and operates in a robust manner that delivers the effective and efficient management of the stock file process across the site
  • Provide capacity to support UL (and others) should the request arise, through a consultancy methodology and best practice framework integrated partnership

  • Analytical, Good MS Excel skills (incl. PivotTables & VLookups)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
