Day Operator

Salary - £27,073 to £31,851 per annum (plus benefits)

Hours - 42 hours per week

Location Postcode- LN6 3QW

As a Day Operator, you will be responsible as part of a team for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the weighbridge, cranes, main tipping hall and loading ash at the Lincoln EFW plant.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working an average of four days per week, Monday to Friday 6.00am to 6.00pm, plus Saturday cover as and when required, 7.00am to 3.00pm.

What will you be doing?

- Ensuring that all activities within the Lincoln tipping hall and ash hall area are carried out in a safe manner in line with FCC Safety Policy, Procedures and all Health & Safety statutory requirements
- Assisting with the co-ordination of all vehicle movements which are delivering or collecting materials and/or products at the site
- Carrying out risk assessments to ensure activities are completed in a safe manner at all times
- Ensuring visitors to the site are inducted in the site safety and emergency procedures
- Ensuring that housekeeping is carried out on a day-to-day regular basis
- Acting as the Competent Person under the Safety Rules
- Recording and reporting any accidents, incidents and near misses in line with FCC Environment Procedures

What are we looking for?

- The ability to operate overhead cranes, front loader machinery, forklift trucks and a weighbridge (Training will be provided)
- An understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation
- An understanding of safe and efficient traffic management within a busy environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills
