Financial Services Operations Assistant

We are working with a reputable and well-established Independ Financial Planning firm, and they are looking for a Financial Services Operations Assistant to join the team.

This is a hybrid role - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The role would be ideal for an experienced administrator with financial services experience, who is looking for a busy and varied role.

Supporting the Operations Manager and Compliance Manager, the role will provide assistance across key areas such as compliance, T&C, HR and financial services and wider branch / operational support. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Support both the Compliance manager and Operations Manager across 2 sites.
  • Assist with administration and maintenance of the T&C scheme.
  • Support the Compliance Manager with the completion and corrective work for file reviews.
  • Assist with monitoring and administration of the firm's Compliance manual, and processes.
  • Assist with IT and HR related administration.
  • Point of contact for all day-to-day compliance queries
  • Work with colleagues to continually monitor, update and review internal processes to improve efficiencies across the company.
  • Assist with the yearly review of the centralised product research.
  • Assist the compliance manager to liaise with external providers such as SmartSearch, SelectaPension, CashCalc for renewals, product updates/changes etc.
  • Support and assist with corporate event planning.
  • Preparing and assisting with producing MI reports.
  • Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, MIFID II, COBS, and in-house compliance requirements.

For this role candidates will need to have proven administration experience within financial services (ideally within an IFA or similar) and have a good understanding of compliance and FCA conduct rules.

Candidates will need to have excellent organsation skills, work well under pressure, and have strong communication skills both verbally and written. A high level of accuracy is essential, and the ability to work autonomously is essential.
