Description

The Control tower manager is a key member of the transport leadership team. Responsibilities include

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the transport control tower (Routing, Driver management, customer service, Administration)
  • Implement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered at all times.
  • Contract performance meetings with customers
  • Coordinate logistics processes, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Leading changes to the transport plan
  • Manage staff, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Report on operational performance, proposing improvements as necessary.
  • Manage the budget of the control tower, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Point of escalation for any issues within the operational running of the control tower

Profile

A successful Transport Control Tower Manager should have:

  • A degree in logistics, business, or a related field or industry related qualifications.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a large team of transport specialists.
  • Excellent knowledge of logistics processes and industry standards.
  • Customer management experience is advantageous including performance reviews
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of budget management and cost-control procedures.
