Our client is a well-known high-end restoration contractor based in South London. They provide bespoke fibrous plastering finishes & heritage restoration services to commercial and high-end residential properties across the UK.
Due to a strong forward order book confirmed for 2024, they are in need of an Estimator to join the team.
As Estimator, you will be responsible for quoting & preparing accurate estimates for restoration & fitout projects across London & the UK. The successful candidate would have a 1-3 years' experience in an estimating role, and ideally a background in bespoke architectural projects, high end residential/commercial fitout and/or prestigious fit-out projects.
This role presents an opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious projects/buildings in the country and would suit a junior level candidate looking to develop and progress.

Position Overview:
Estimator
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation to understand scope, materials, and labour requirements. Conduct site visits and consultations as needed to gather additional information and assess project conditions.
- Utilise industry-standard estimating techniques and software to quantify project costs, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead expenses. Analyse pricing data and vendor quotes to determine the most cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals for prospective clients, incorporating detailed cost breakdowns, project timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to tailor proposals to client needs and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to explore alternative materials, methods, and approaches to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Evaluate project risks and uncertainties, such as market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory changes, and incorporate risk factors into cost estimates and contingency plans.
Position Requirements:
Estimator
- 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the high-end fit-out or architectural industry.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
