I am currently representing Manchester City Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 Months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a Rate of which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are currently working with Manchester City Council to help recruit for a Floating Support Worker

The role holder will have experience of support work and move on support work. Working with homeless applicants this worker will assess the needs of homeless applicants and from that assessment match the cases to an appropriate move on scheme. Whether that be into supported accommodation, private rented tenancies, MCC in house accommodation or social housing through Manchester Move. The role holder will have experience of dealing with clients presenting with complex needs for example: clients with active or recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, clients who are past serious offenders, clients with active mental health conditions, clients with active physical health conditions. The role holder will have experience in dealing with safeguarding concerns and will take necessary steps to escalate concerns to management and adult safeguarding agencies. Multi agency work is crucial and the role holder will be able to develop strong working relationships quickly particularly with the different partner accommodation schemes we look to move homeless clients into. The role holder will be able to undertake lone working responsibilities making visits to clients staying in homeless B&Bs and Hotels throughout Manchester.

Candidates will ideally have experience within homelessness

There are two different positions available within the role - Intensive Support Workers and Support Workers - to be discussed at interview stage based on experience.

The Intensive Support workers will be working with Homeless Families and working on a case load of 20-25. They will work with the Family for 3 months and then deem them as high or low risk. The family will then be passed onto the Support Workers who will work with them for the full tenancy length. The support workers will have a case load of 40 families.

The role is Mon - Friday 7 hours per day

This is a Hybrid role and candidates are expected to be office based 2x per week with 1 Duty shift per fortnight.

Candidate must be a driver with business insurance

Please could the following be made quite clear to candidates:
- All candidates must have a valid driving licence, access to a car for work purposes, and have business insurance on their car.
- All candidates must have a current visa which allows them to work full time and has at least 6 months on it (or concrete plans to extend).
- All candidates must have a current enhanced DBS for adults and children
