Semi-Senior Accountant

LHH are pleased to be partnering a leading accountancy firm on the outskirts of Walsall who are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in providing exceptional accounting services to their diverse clientele, ranging from small businesses to multi-million-pound corporations.

Key duties include:

  • Manage monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records for clients.
  • Prepare and analyse management accounts, offering insights to drive business performance.
  • Compile financial statements using IRIS software, adhering to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in accounting audits, gathering relevant documentation and liaising with clients.
  • Utilize accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel to efficiently manage financial data.
  • Ensure clients' compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and provide guidance on MTD processes.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, providing timely and professional advice.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure client satisfaction and the highest quality of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in monthly and quarterly bookkeeping and management accounts preparation.
  • Familiarity with the compilation of financial statements using IRIS software.
  • Experience participating in accounting audits.
  • Knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Requirements: ?

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or greater (studying towards ACCA)
  • QBE (Qualified By Experience) also considered
