Job Description
Location: Field based (UK)
SGS is seeking a skilled and dedicated Asbestos Surveyor to join our team. As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our clients and the general public by identifying and assessing potential asbestos-containing materials in buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough asbestos surveys in accordance with HSE guidelines and regulations.
- Identifying and sampling suspected asbestos-containing materials.
- Recording accurate and detailed survey findings using digital or paper-based systems.
- Assessing the condition and risk of identified asbestos materials.
- Providing clear and concise reports to clients, including recommendations for management or removal.
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of asbestos legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Certification or qualification in asbestos surveying (e.g., BOHS P402).
- Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, ideally within a similar role or environment.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document survey findings.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with survey software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
