Payments Officer

1. Deliver an aspect of service delivery, which engages customers / stakeholders and enables them to make effective use of the service.

2. Meet monthly with Children with Disabilities Service Manager, Commissioning Leads and external providers to review the use of the short break provision contracts to maximise usage of the provision. Job Description

3. Administer the requests for resources at the Dudley Quality Assurance Meeting and document and record decisions on the child's electronic file.

4. Prepare and process the Direct Payments contract and work in partnership with Business support colleagues to ensure Personal Assistants have DBS checks and parents have appropriate support to manage Direct Payments through Managed or Devolved accounts.

5. Administer the Direct Payments Payroll run and manage the Short Break Payment Trays in accordance with Financial Delegated Responsibilities. 6. Meet termly with Parent representatives with commissioning colleagues, via Forums to ensure feedback is actioned in respect of Direct Payments.

7. Complete training with new employees to ensure they understand the provision of Direct Payments and Short Breaks and systems in place to review and manage these.

8. Develop pathways/processes to administer Direct Payments in the most cost-effective way.

9. Work with social care colleagues and partners in Health and SEN to ensure Personal Budgets are administered to meet the child's assessed need.

10.Ensure records of services provided to children are provided by Short Break providers and evidenced on children's electronic files.

11.Plan and deliver the services required in the area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with all internal and external standards. Contribute to wider service planning, improvement and development activities as required.

12.Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, customers and stakeholders. Manage escalated or complex customer issues within the specialist area.

13.Support the evaluation of information /feedback. Identify and interpret data, trends and problems which may impact on the service area. Develop and submit reports and recommendations on key issues

14.Manage own specialist area of work and contribute to development of the Whole Life Disability Service relevant to specialist area.

15.Design and deliver agreed communications / promotional / engagement events and activities to support the service area.

16.Work together with commissioning services to ensure the resources and the services available to service users are appropriate to assessed needs and needs led. Accountability for team budgets relating to short breaks and other services as relevant.
