Consumer PR Account Director- Manchester/Hybrid

Due to expansion, this highly regarded Manchester agency is looking to appoint a PR account director to lead on large, big brand FMCG and retail clients.

This role is perfect for a consumer brand communications specialist with experience of advising organisations at a strategic level and who enjoys leading client programmes and teams.

They are looking for proven experience in the development and execution of campaigns that have made a real impact on a brand's reputation.

They are ideally looking for people with experience in the retail and FMCG sectors, but ?this is not essential.

In this senior role, you will have decision making authority, commercial responsibility and work with a wide range of specialists at the agency, including our Research & Analytics and Creative teams.?

Role responsibilities

  • Planning and strategy development for client programmes and integrated campaigns
  • Taking commercial responsibility for a portfolio of accounts
  • Acting as lead client counsel
  • Managing and supporting the team to ensure deadlines and KPIs are met
  • Reviewing content and advising on placement across earned, owned, paid and social media channels
  • Leading planning and review meetings
  • Generating ideas and spotting opportunities for clients
  • Maintaining senior client and media relationships
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of client businesses, sectors and all forms of media
  • Identifying potential new business leads and areas of potential growth
  • Leading new business pitches

Role requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role - either as a Senior Account Manager or Account Director
  • Experience in handling complex client issues and ability to provide senior clients with clear and well-informed strategic counsel
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver a project to budget
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to apply solutions quickly
  • Organisational, planning and client management skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and support junior colleagues
  • Ability to think critically, creatively and to demonstrate good judgement
  • A good work ethic, flexibility and enthusiasm to deliver work and results of a consistently high standard
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
