Accounts Receivable Assistant

Our client, a Financial Services firm, based in the heart of the central London, are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team.

Due to continued growth and success, this position has arisen through expansion. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this role will suit an individual with a minimum of 6 months' accounts experience, preferably with a strong understanding of Sales Ledger/ Credit Control.

The successful individual will be career focused, enthusiastic, possess great communication skills and have strong working knowledge of Excel.

This is a permanent position paying between £29,000.

Responsibilities

Billing and payables

  • Inputting bills & expenses from suppliers into accounting software for multiple entities, across various currencies
  • Reviewing & approving expenses and importing to accounting software
  • Monitoring payables to ensure payment and resolution of supplier queries on time
  • Building strong working relationships with suppliers, resolving issues promptly
  • Maintaining records/ ensuring kept up to date
  • Assisting in the preparation of payments runs for multiple entities/international currencies

Credit control/ invoices and receivables

  • Assisting with all credit control process
  • Processing customer invoices, payments and credit notes on accounting systems
  • Resolving invoice queries on time
  • Building excellent relationships with clients,
  • Monitoring Accounts Receivable and following up any overdue invoices for payment departments
  • Liaising with internal colleagues to ensure recovery of payment from debtors in timely fashion

General

  • Bank reconciliations preparation
  • Maintenance of financial records
  • Other assistance to the finance team such as audit & ad hoc projects/ suggesting improvements to processes
  • Helping drive further efficiencies as the company grows.

Person Specification

  • Numerate Degree or at least 6 months accounts experience
  • Lots of enthusiasm
  • A self starter with the ability to show initiative
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Excellent Communication skills with the ability to perform presentations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
