My client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy which specialises in Drainage, Civil and Flood Risk Engineering, is searching for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join an established team of Flood Risk and Drainage specialists based in Bedford.
It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and/or MSc in Hydrology, Civil or Environmental Engineering and experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Estimation or Hydraulic Modelling.
Applicants are required to have a valid driving licence to attend site visits when needed.
It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally and have experience mentoring team members and managing projects.
This exciting role will offer candidates the opportunity to join a team of experienced Engineers in Bedford to work on varied Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Estimation, Hydraulic Modelling, Flood Mitigation and Property Flood Resilience for Private Sector Clients and Housing Developers.
Applicants will be required to travel across the UK to visit sites and complete the following;
- Flood Risk Assessments for flood zone 1,2 and 3.
- Property Flood Resilience Surveys (on occasion).
- Hydraulic Modelling.
- Flood Estimation.
- Drainage Strategies.
- Inspect and assess flood risk assets.
- Emergency Planning.
- Public Safety Risk Assessment.
- Survey buildings and sites at risk of flooding and complete reports assessing resilience levels, drying and decontamination requirements.
- Develop new business opportunities with new and existing Clients.
