Main Function of Job:

The Group Accountant will be instrumental in advancing internal and external financial reporting for our group, ensuring compliance with current financial reporting frameworks to satisfy the requirements of our shareholders and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the finance leadership to maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial accounting standards and corporate reporting obligations.
  • Prepare and produce standalone statutory accounts for subsidiary companies and assist in the annual audit process while coordinating with external auditors.
  • Contribute to the preparation and production of annual and interim financial statements for public dissemination and internal group reporting.
  • Participate in the external audit process for group accounts and subsidiaries, including year-end and half-year audits.
  • Manage company secretarial filing and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Work closely with tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance and payments to HMRC.
  • Perform month-end accounting for subsidiary companies, including accruals, prepayments, bookkeeping, and variance analysis.
  • Produce group monthly and statutory income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Maintain records of intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances monthly, liaising with subsidiary teams to address variances.
  • Update cash forecasts and provide senior management with weekly updates on cash position and liquidity requirements, managing internal loan facilities.
  • Carry out additional tasks as needed to support the finance department and organizational objectives.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Part or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with a strong technical background in financial reporting under IFRS, including experience with group consolidation.
  • Proven experience in financial management, statutory reporting, and budget control.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to process improvement and the streamlining of financial operations for better efficiency.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role in Redhill with occasional visits to subsidiary locations as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the finance team.
  • Support subsidiary teams with financial inquiries and day-to-day financial operations.
