We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN English Teacher to in Southampton starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality English lessons tailored to the diverse needs of our students, helping them to develop their literacy skills and build confidence in their abilities.
**Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.
- Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals to support student learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
**Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in English.
- Experience teaching students with special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the educational outcomes of SEN students.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
