Warehouse Handballer
Location: Haydock, WA11 9SE, on-site free parking available Hourly rate: £12.00 p/h Shift: Tue-Sat, 06.00-14.00 Contract: Temporary with a view to go permanent Start Date: Immediate
All candidates will be drug and alcohol tested and DBS tested.
All roles will require working in ambient, chilled or freezer environment.
Ideal candidate will hold a valid PPT Certificate and 1+ years' experience.
A major player in the Supply Chain market is seeking an experienced Warehouse Handballer to be based at their Haydock Distribution Centre.
You will be responsible for fulfilling customer orders by selecting and preparing products for shipment.
Your duties will include:
- Manually loading and unloading products from trucks, trailers, or containers, involving lifting, carrying, and placing items by hand.
- Stacking goods on pallets in an organised manner to ensure stability during transportation or putaway.
- Separating and organising products according to product type.
- Inspecting products for damage or defects and reporting them.
- Recording quantities and types of goods loaded or unloaded to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Operating equipment such as manual pallet trucks, PPTs and trollies.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Communicating and working as part of a team.
- Working in either ambient, chilled or freezer environment as and when required (PPE and extra breaks will be provided).
An ideal Warehouse Handballer will hold the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working within a warehouse environment ideally within a Distribution industry.
- "Can Do" attitude.
- PPT Certificate and 1 years' experience.
- Excellent physical health.
- Willingness to work either in a chilled or freezer department.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and standards.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written).
- Good level of literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to work within a team to achieve daily targets
