Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Secondary School in Trafford (WA14) Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2023

The Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support to students with special educational needs within our esteemed WA14 Secondary School. Working closely with the school's inclusion team, you will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide one-to-one assistance to students with SEND, ensuring their unique learning needs are met and progress is closely monitored.
  • Classroom Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and personalised support strategies for each student.
  • Behavioural Guidance: Foster positive behaviour management techniques and promote social development among students.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing educational materials and resources, adapting them to suit the needs of diverse learners.
  • Personal Care: Extend additional support for students with physical disabilities or medical requirements, ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Possess relevant qualifications or certifications in education and/or special needs support.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with students with SEND is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Passion: Exhibit genuine enthusiasm for empowering students and helping them overcome educational barriers.
  • Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
  • Patience: Display patience, empathy, and understanding towards students' diverse needs.
